Pen fight in a class when pen was not allowed! How does it sounds if a student write with a red ink pen?

Yeah! So curious, isn’t?

Only pencil was allowed for grades under standard 5. The use of pen was not allowed for that ages and there was a logic for that. Children of little ages have the tendency to write and edit constantly due to the incurrence of mistakes. So, it will be difficult to manage writing with pen. Eraser, which is popularly called rubber can be used to rub out the matter written with pencil easily. But, it is difficult to erase the scripts written with pen due to the use of ink.

But, gradually according to the progress in writing students achieve a mandate to write with pen. Carrying a pen to lower classes was hence prohibited for students because there was no use of it. Though the human tendency to have something that do not have the permission to use is inhabited, some students carried pen with them to the class. Not to write! But to have a game with it; called pen fight. Whereby, two guys hit with their pen to each other on the desk. One whose pen falls down will be the loser and the other person wins. When the teachers find out the addiction of students towards this thing it became prohibited at classes where pen has already banned.

So, some students of standard 4 asked their English teacher about the terms for bringing pen to the classes. And the teacher replied that they can have it from ‘next year’. As the ‘year’ was not audible to the whole class, particularly those who lack concentration or attention, only ‘next’ was heard by a guy. And, together with the level of his assumption he thought it as ‘next day. Writing in the form of composition was a practice those days and the teacher has given a topic as a self creation assignment for next day. The teacher also said it in a not so serious way about the use of pen to write with a condition limiting to rough work and that too only at home.

Deficit of attention became a barrier for which this guy write the activity book with pen, that too in Red ink, though written at home itself. Next day the teacher reached near to each of the students and checked their activity books as if the teacher got some clue. As a matter of fact the book was shown to someone in the morning and realised the blunder he has done. Seeing the Red colour and the use of pen & ink the teacher’s face turned red and called the guy to the front of the class and enquired about it in detail. “Who give permission to write with a pen, that too in red ink?” ‘Yourself’, he replied to the teacher. “You have done a mistake and more than that you are lying also?” exclaimed the teacher. ‘Yes teacher, you said’, he said it for the next time with confidence. The teacher started beating heavily out of control for more than 15 times in the hand, arms, biceps, legs, and everywhere it was possible to beat with a stick, just after the guy completed saying ‘yes teacher’. “You have made a fault and told a lie about a thing that I have never been said” the teacher said with very heavy emotional breakdown.

The teacher enquired to the class topper and the most reliable girl of the class about what they have heard. “You can write with pen from the next year” the classmate recalled. “Have anyone heard something else that is different?” ‘No’, the entire class whispered. Then the teacher asked this guy about what his classmates have been said on what they have heard. The student became speechless for a moment and for the first time he realised that what he believes and speak out loud as the exact right thing may not be real, and later he observed that it is termed as auditory perceptions. The same teacher or some other teacher remainded later “we put our entire effort for you to remain silent in the class, and make free from any other businesses, but what can we do for your absent mindedness?”
