Feeling of guilt for the first time due to a cruelty; a story of empathy

What truly enhances the magic of childhood memories is the vibrant interaction with peers, those kindred spirits sharing the same age. Yet, for a boy who finds no constancy until the age of five, the world takes on a different hue, weaving an intricate tapestry of emotions throughout his life. In the bustling cities during 90’s, where loneliness often loomed large, children found solace in the flickering glow of televisions. Meanwhile, those who embraced the Flat culture discovered camaraderie in the courtyards, hobby classes, and private parks, forging connections that made their childhood experience all the more enriching.

There might be lot of elders to take care; relatives, family friends or a random visitor. But, it would be a moment of wonder to a child in his age 3 when he get some freedom to interact with another guy from the nearby age group for the first time. An age gap of one year younger sounds as a difficulty in understanding for a cousin brother. That feeling of guilt when a tiny creature you are talking for the first time do not talk back becomes a life lesson which generates a feeling of insult for an elder one. A push or hit with bare hand or with something in hand might be a spontaneous reflex reaction for the silence experienced. There is a moment of ego blast which turns to the sprouts of kindness when the same little guy do not respond back with any harsh response in return other than an innocent stare. But that emotional break down due to empathy from that innocent stare leads to a feeling of connection that creates trauma or trust issue when someone else responds for every word or act.

But that wound will not heals quickly if that little guy is on a short visit for one or two days before going abroad and by the time got placed in the heart beyond a cousin and as a sibling. Relatively, in a locality spanning just 0.2 square miles, there is a vibrant community of over 50 children. Despite some challenges in resources and job opportunities, 44 of these children have had the exciting chance to relocate with their families, exploring new environments even abroad. Among the remaining six, three were thriving at boarding schools and eagerly return to the neighborhood during monthly holidays or vacations. The unique differences that have developed among the children over the years foster a rich variety of interactions, helping them grow and learn from one another in delightful ways.

A successful business is not the one which captures the entire market and establish a monopoly. Because ‘trade and aids to trade’ is something with a wide meaning. When one trade related to an engineering unit which manufactures a wrist watch which is basically a time machine flourish, all the connected aspects need to be developed with it.

When a product with lot of utilities comes out it create a market of its own as well as it becomes a reason for other products to found a space to grow. That is the way how some products or brands which are not well known becomes a reason for other products or brands to flourish. Maybe sometimes the product moves through the path of ‘use and throw’. But the popularity for such products brought through the utility it offers to such a vast group creates a market boom for the entirety.

If a new smartphone is bought the allied products like charger, cable, screen protector, pouch or cover, etc also get an entry to the market indirectly. Even after using for a lesser time the related products (smartphone in this case) do not lasts longer compared to its core product, which are all usually taxed equally. When a charger that comes bundled with a phone which becomes a trash after 3 or 5 years works fine after using it continuously for 15 years it is called brand value. It is the quality which people still prefer to opt for brands like Samsung or Nokia even if it is a C2C used goods deal. The harm caused by overproduction to environment would be controlled and thereby responsible use and sustainable development can be ensured if the goods posses a brand value due to better quality.

Once, it was on a search for a headset enabled with bluetooth on some global e-market where all type of goods despite of new, unused, used, refurbished, etc. and so are listed and available to purchase. All of a sudden one product stroked my view. It was priced 5000 but the offer was for 300 or so, listed as refurbished. When I received it I tried to connect it with my phone. It worked fine. Then I noticed one thing. It was not refurbished, it was exactly new and the person who tried to purchase it earlier have failed to connect it with a mobile phone or other device due to their technical incompetence. Though it had the signs of old age as the outer synthetic coating over the padded headband started to tear out when the plastic covering was removed. As an assumption, it might either be listed by a retail customer who purchased it few months before or they would be a retail seller selling the item after keeping it in the store idle for a long while. After using for more than a decade it still works fine. Now, it is used atleast once in two months and the battery is recharged once in six month. Still it is in good condition without any problem to main areas like drivers or cushion.

Sometimes it may be a vital supplement item like charger for mobile phone which keeps the phone live. Otherwise a thing like headset which determines our emotional well being that plays an essential part that matters in daily life. There are products which comes out to the market without R&D infrastructure. Such goods which cannot be used for more than few weeks are attractive only due to lower price band. Quality is something which cannot be compromised due to the potential of such gadgets in the creation of health hazards either to living beings or to the environment. And, it is only the responsible purchase that can distinguish a product that is worthwhile. It looks like a huge price to buy a charger priced 1000 from a reputed brand. But it will lasts longer for more than 10 years. And a low quality charger priced between 150 to 250 need to be replaced every 6 month or few years, which increases the expenditure and effort towards waste disposal. So, definitely it is one of the best options to go for C2C markets that displays every detail in the description of goods listed, if quality and brand are preferred and the price of boxed products are beyond the budget.

A success story which lasted more than 50,000 kilometres

Traveling is an unavoidable event of every movable living being. If the mode of transportation causes depletion of natural resources it need to be reconsidered. Whether the fuel used in the vehicle is renewable or not matters in this view. Another thing to be considered is the parts used in a vehicle. The parts which need to be replaced occasionally should also be monitored carefully. Optimum utilisation of resources is the factor to be considered at this point. Buying new tyres every 5,000 or 10,000 kilometres is a craze for someone, more specifically college students. On the other hand it is only a source of money drain. It is not even desirable to buy new tyres without utilising it properly. Moving at a speed of 80km/hr or more and applying brakes constantly without considering whether it is necessary or not is a cause for such a huge wear and tear. A better control of the speed is important in this regard. When the speed is limited the necessity to apply brake will be decreased. Eventually it reduces the friction and it results in reduced wear and tear.

Usually the tyres that are available in the market will be made out of rubber which may be natural rubber or any synthetic versions. A tyre will never have any signs of wear and tear if it is used to roll for a century. Because no kind of stress or friction is applied on it. The natural environment is the key reason for life on earth. Unlike other living organisms human capacity is not limited to his own body parts like hands, legs or teeth. When the requirements are beyond the reach of his hands the humans utilize other materials available in the universe to attain his needs. Gradually, the most superior form of life on earth turns to act as a predator to his fellow beings, other organisms and the environment as well. By his very nature he discovered the substances that can create fire. At the early stages fire was used to satisfy his basic need related only to cooking of food. Advancements from the discovery of fire has paved the way to discoveries like iron which became a turning point of human life. The utilities developed from the combination of iron and fire as the next stage of inventions act as the backbone of modern world. Now, everything from telecommunications to the cooking of food is based on technology. But, there is an extreme difference in the limited production of items in the past with contradiction to the making of goods on a mass scale. The production of items on a bulk scale requires more resources. Since some resources are abundant it will not make significant impact on its depletion due to its massive exploitation. But certain resources which are scarce need such level of care to get protected. Day to day activities of human beings which is dependent on producing heat and fumes create threatening situations. Because, mostly the physical conversion of one material that is available abundantly in the nature to a finished product requires such level of heat energy. Simultaneously it create emissions which affects the habitat and environment. Whereby, some self satisfactory acts of human beings spoils the safety of himself and that of everything.

As a say ‘modern problem requires modern solutions’. If there is a problem there is injustice. Problems of human beings are vast and remains unresolved for centuries even though it is regarded that we live in a millennium that has solution for every problem. Problems from poverty, hunger, poor health, lack of education, inequalities, scarcity of clean water, lack of descent work, underdeveloped infrastructure and communities, responsible consumption and production, climate action, etc and a lot of such under addressed problems which directly affect the standard of human life. Together with it such problems like environmental degradation also spoils a lot of great moments. It needs to be resolved. The safety and security of everything and everyone can be ensured by the implementation of justice only. Justice which takes the form of economic justice, social justice, political justice, etc together with justice for environment.

The most feasible method to achieve justice in today’s world does not lies in following a religion or believing an extreme political philosophy. But it can be made possible by effectively utilizing businesses by consideration of its impact on the environment and initiation of justice for environment over human interventions. The products and services offered for consumption are a result of business activities. In most situations the ultimate consumers of products and services will be human beings. As every activities of business is human centered it will be connected to its stakeholders like investors, customers, regulatory bodies, government, communities, etc. or the society as a whole. Moreover its impact is very high on environment. A business cannot be commenced in the absence of capital. Similarly, environment acts as the capital by which living beings are generated. So, the decisions regarding the activities of a business have to be aligned in accordance with its stakeholders and the environment. A framework which is based on sustainable development goals becomes important in this sense and acts as a means to facilitate the sustainability and ethical impact on an organizations operations. But in certain cases there will be contradictions between stakeholders. The outcome which would be in favor of one set of stakeholders will not be favorable to some other individuals or groups. In such cases active engagement of all stakeholders need to be ensured to avoid further conflicts. Sustainability, which is a need of the hour need to be attained by such dedicated level of inter-personal involvement without conflicts.

A day without extraction and use of crude oil after setting up of adequate alternatives all over the world is a need of the minute. Apart from that of multi-million liters of petroleum products for fuel and power the manufacturing and use of products like plastic, artificial rubber, synthetic materials including synthetic drugs, etc matters. From basic necessities of life like food, clothing and shelter, there is a tendency to depend on petroleum products for everything.

There would be a lot of alternatives for LPG. But even the governments support usage of LPG for cooking by creating hindrances for the discovery and development of alternatives. If the food stores operated by government try to change the mode of equipment used for cooking then there would be a lot of followers for it. Some fertilizers which are manufactured by extraction of petroleum crude has a lot of alternatives with less side effects. But, it is human nature to try the easiest method for acquiring the need satisfaction. Since generation of other fertilizers or organic manures or fertilizers is a task, it is relied more on petroleum based fertilizers as it gives more yield in less time. The making of cloths including polyester depends a bit on petroleum. If alternatives like cotton would be promoted it will be a perfect experience to the nature. We have the option for hydro-electric power. Solar power is also a better option for places with adequate sunlight. But, today’s power stations are fond of power from burning fossil fuels. Items like petroleum gel which is used as a moisturizer for body has a lot of alternatives but still the profit from some brands stay steady. Some petroleum products used for making mattresses and pillows are non degradable which is used widely. Some synthetic drugs for stimulation of brain and mind are brought from some petroleum products which acts as a challenge to the entire humanity.

It is easy to speak like “we are against climate action and we need to recover”. But some small steps like non generation of fossil fuels & its associated items and instead use of alternatives would be beneficial. Air, water and soil; the environment as a whole needs to recover and human co-ordination is crucial on this behalf.
